About Us

Shri Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Memorial National Committee is a non-profit Organisation. It was conceptualised & pioneered in 1981 by Late Smt. Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India, to propagate the ideals of Shri Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, a great leader who stood against the Mughal Invasion. Shivaji was much ahead of his time, who built a fiercely nationalist society and stood against the might of foreigners’ domination and remained unconquered, while the rest of India virtually surrendered.

The first President of this Committee was Late Giani Zail Singh, the Home Minister of India. The Committee’s HQ is located in Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi. The HQ building was inaugurated by Smt. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil, the President of India, on 15th September, 2009 Headquarter is in Delhi.
